Ink at 443 Feet: Kelly Osbourne Honors Ozzy with a Tattoo on the London Eye
06 July, 2026Some tributes are spoken. Others are carried forever.
This last week, Kelly Osbourne became one of the first people in the world to be tattooed aboard the London Eye, choosing an unforgettable setting to honor her late father, Ozzy Osbourne. Suspended 443 feet above the River Thames inside a slowly rotating glass capsule, she received a tattoo that says everything without saying much at all.
The Glasses That Became a Legacy
Rather than dates, lyrics, or a portrait, Kelly chose one of her father's most recognizable trademarks: his signature round glasses, now permanently inked on her thigh.
The piece was created by Miles Langford, founder of The London Social and one of London's most respected tattoo artists. Known for his refined black-and-grey work and celebrity clientele, Langford has built a reputation for creating tattoos that balance technical precision with personal storytelling—making him a fitting artist for a tribute rooted in memory.
The design is instantly recognizable to generations of fans. Those iconic frames became inseparable from Ozzy himself, as legendary as his stage presence, unmistakable laugh, and the unforgettable moments that made The Osbournes a cultural phenomenon.
The tribute reflects a bond that extended far beyond music. Since Ozzy's passing on July 22, 2025, at age 76, Kelly has spoken openly about navigating grief—from celebrating her first birthday without one of his handwritten cards to sharing that she still catches herself wanting to call him for advice, laughter, or simply to share life's milestones.
There's also a fitting touch of irony. Despite being covered in tattoos himself, Ozzy famously discouraged Kelly from getting tattooed when she was younger. She ignored the advice then, and years later, that same rebellious streak became one of the most meaningful ways she could honor him.
The World's First Rotating Tattoo Studio
The setting was just as memorable as the tattoo.
In partnership with The London Social tattoo studio, the London Eye transformed one of its capsules into what is believed to be the world's first rotating tattoo studio, giving artists and clients an uninterrupted 360-degree view of London while the wheel completes its slow rotation 135 metres above the city.
Kelly helped inaugurate the experience alongside football star Georgia Stanway, creator George Baggs, and TV personality Zach Noble. Photographs captured her smiling through the session in a red-and-white polka-dot dress as London's skyline stretched behind her.
Public demand matched the excitement. When bookings opened ahead of the July 2 launch, all 32 appointments sold out in less than 24 hours.
The Future of Experiential Tattooing
The experience also reflects a growing cultural shift.
Tattoo tourism has become one of travel's fastest-growing trends, with more people choosing meaningful tattoos over traditional souvenirs. Instead of bringing home something that sits on a shelf, travelers are marking milestones with artwork they'll carry for life.
A tattoo studio suspended above one of the world's most recognizable skylines may be the boldest expression of that movement yet.
A Legacy Written in Ink
Few people shaped modern tattoo culture quite like Ozzy Osbourne.
Long before tattoos became mainstream, Ozzy wore his unapologetically, helping redefine what they represented; not just rebellion, but identity, storytelling, and self-expression. Offstage, the world came to know another side of him: devoted husband, father, grandfather, and the heart of one of television's most beloved families.
Now, Kelly carries a small piece of that legacy with her.
Just two simple circles.
A symbol every fan recognizes. A reminder of the man behind the legend. And a tribute written not in words, but in ink high above the city where his story first began.
Long live the Prince of Darkness. 🦇
