- Prepare by cleaning and shaving (if necessary) the area before applying.

Numbing Cream with Menthol
I purchased this based on my tattoo artist's recommendation. It definitely takes the edge off, but it is not a pain-free solution. It makes the process more bearable but you will feel it. I used it for a small tattoo on my lower inner arm and a large tattoo on my outer upper arm. I'm getting a 3rd tattoo on my thigh later this month and plan to use it again. As long as want to take the edge off and are not expecting a pain-free process, I say purchase it and try it out. It is a hurt so good type of solution.
The numbing cream did not numb me at all. I tested it in a few spots to be sure, with no luck. TKTX is the best brand available.
I have heard great things about Mad Rabbit & was excited to try it for a larger piece this past weekend. I put it on 90 minutes before my appointment, wrapped it as instructed, & by the time I got to the shop it just felt like normal, unfortunately :/ did not minimize any of the discomfort. Smells nice but it’s not a daily cream so….going in the trash :(
Not overpowering with menthol, helps to calm the skin after a tattoo. Highly recommend this product!
