Let’s be real, pain in all forms can impact our day- whether aches, muscle pains, etc. That’s where Lidocaine, menthol and camphor comes in. It’s a local anesthetic that numbs the area it’s applied to help ease any current or anticipated pain/trauma.
Pain relief when you need it
The combination of lidocaine, menthol, and camphor in our formula is going to dramatically decrease a lot of the pain. Long story short: it blocks the receptors in your skin responsible for sending signals to your brain that something hurts.

Temporary relief from pain, discomfort and irritability
I was a little bummed when I get my new jar of numbing cream. I was wondering why it didn’t work as well as the first jar and then I saw that the ingredients were different. 4% lidocaine instead of the 5% like the old formula. You wouldn’t think that 1% would make a difference but it definitely did. Please think about going back to the old formula.

Painless
It was a small and quick tattoo. But I was able to sit though my whole session and didn’t feel a thing.

Used to Be Great—Now It’s Dangerous and Useless
I’ve bought Mad Rabbit’s Relieve numbing cream at least four times in the past off Amazon. It used to be my go-to—affordable, solid formula, reliable pain relief, and worked as advertised. But recently, I went to reorder and noticed it was no longer available on Amazon. So I ordered directly from the Mad Rabbit website. Big mistake.
What showed up wasn’t the same product. Not even close.
• The size was cut down from 1.5 oz to 1 oz.
• The formula completely changed—from 5% lidocaine to a weak blend of 4% lidocaine, 0.5% menthol, and 0.5% camphor.
• The texture and effect feel more like a muscle rub than a numbing cream. It did absolutely nothing to dull the pain during my last tattoo session—actually made it feel worse.
• On top of it all, they changed the packaging, and it now comes in a little jar that is in violation of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Don’t just take my word for it—look up the CPSC warning.
This isn’t just a bad update—it’s a dangerous downgrade.
Save your money and your skin. Until (or unless) Mad Rabbit brings back the old formula and packaging, I’m done with this product and company. What used to be great is now completely unreliable and potentially harmful.
