Miguel's path into tattooing started with no training and questionable equipment. His first tattoo was on himself. No apprenticeship yet, no formal setup. Just nerves, a needle, and the kind of stubbornness that either ends badly or becomes a career.
For Miguel, it became a career.
He was mentored by Dozer, who apprenticed under Ernie Carafa. That lineage shows up in his work. But what makes Miguel's story stick is the personal stuff.
He recently went back to Massachusetts for the first time in nearly 10 years. While he was there, he tattooed a black and grey piece on his sister. It ended up being one of his best in that style. And it meant something, because she was the one who let him practice on her when he was starting out. His family seeing how far he's come turned the whole trip into something he won't forget.
