Newsletter 101
16 July, 2026
Two things worth doing before tomorrow:
1. Give Your Artist Their Flowers: the National Tattoo Day challenge closes July 17, still plenty of room in the gift card draw.
2. Add your code to your bio: five seconds, and it's the single easiest way to make sure that 30% actually gets used this week. Do this even if you do nothing else today.
Biggest order this cycle: Brad, $260.63, $106.42 in commission. His cart: Tattoo Balm Variety Set, Daily Lotion, SPF 30 & Body Wash, Lotion SPF 30 & Tattoo Balm (Sandalwood), Mad Rabbit Tattoo Club, Everything Tattoo Kit, Tangerine Vanilla Tattoo Balm Salve, Mad Rabbit Toiletry Bag. That's a full routine, not a single item, worth noticing if you're wondering what to recommend.
Top earners this cycle: Abdul, Jens, Brad, Roberto, Kaylee; all five kept their codes moving the whole cycle.
Jessica: the elbow piece that taught her to eat a real meal before a 3.5-hour sit
Katherine: NTD shoutout paired with a Tangerine Vanilla Balm push, already in sale mode
Dave: a body of work that doubles as a timeline of where he's been
Kozlin: 30-plus tattoos in, still asking the right question, will I love this in 20 years
Aleasha: a tribute to the single dad who raised her, one of the most personal pieces in the grid
Elizabeth: a full carousel tracking one piece through every stage of healing
Christen: 90s Looney Tunes flash pulled from the shop archive, live through the weekend of the 18th
Blake: a first tattoo at 59, and the gel that kept irritated skin calm through it
Ian: chrome work, and a reminder that the whites hurt the most for a reason
Best tattoo, worst tattoo, most tattoos. We all know someone who'd win that middle one. Should we make it a challenge and vote on the winners in each category? Tell me on the dashboard, or just reply to this, if that sounds fun.
And there's a new reward coming soon from one of your own, which got me thinking we could be using this program to support your creative work, too. If you're an artist or you run a business, send me an email and tell me about it. I'd love to collab and get some of your stuff into the reward shop. That's what the community access is actually for: meeting other artists, supporting each other, not just scrolling past it. If you haven't used it yet, that's your invite.

Her first tattoo was a small Kanji symbol for "strength," a claim on her identity as the one who pushed her body to its limits. When she got sick, that tattoo became a vow for recovery. The piece that means the most right now is her dad's guitar, paired with his real signature pulled from old birthday cards, from before his strokes changed his handwriting. He's still here, but so much of what he loved is out of reach for him now. She wears it as a promise to live out his unfinished dreams while he's still around to see it.
Mad Rabbit's been part of her routine for years, since the first tube of balm stick. She stayed because it worked without setting off her allergies, and now it's in daily rotation on a full-color collection that's still growing between surgeries.
"Tattooing over my surgical scars has made my outside finally match how I feel on the inside."

Two different clocks are running this week, don't mix them up.
Give Your Artist Their Flowers (National Tattoo Day): closes Friday, July 17. Still wide open, still plenty of room in the gift card draw.
Separately, the 30% off and 30% commission run all week, through the 20th. That clock's longer; use it to keep selling even after National Tattoo Day.
All month, live now
-
What I Wish I Knew: one thing you wish someone had told you before your first tattoo
-
The Sitting: a session that sticks with you
-
The Tattoo You Almost Didn't Get: the one you almost talked yourself out of
-
Tattoo Trivia (Hard): thirteen questions on tattoo history and culture, 58 of you have already finished it... Take the quiz 😏
Quick win, again, because it matters: if you haven't added your code to your bio yet, that's still the fastest lever you have this week.
Tattoo artists and sponsored artists: your extra challenges (client walkthroughs, video swipes, IG/TikTok posts) are live in the dashboard too.
One more thing: we're kicking around new sales-milestone rewards for down the line. Nothing locked in, but if you've got a wishlist, reply and tell me.
July 17 only comes around once a year. Hug your artist, or at least tip like you mean it.
